Wood, fire and metal were the original natural materials used to design exclusive doors. We created two different products using wood and fire, namely Marugame and Nakatado, for our German partner KOWA's design. Marugame is charred and it retains an even pattern that is created when the planks pass through the heat of our furnace. With Nakatado, the wood is first brushed after charring and then carefully treated to reveal the lively wood structure of the grain. KOWA, a supplier of high-quality German doors, opted for the unique and sustainable Zwarthout products.
