The clients had their eyes on a beautiful plot with a curved shape on the Kadoelenweg in the north of Amsterdam. The design for their new residence follows the shape of the plot. The side that faces the street is somewhat closed off, but at the back of the residence, a glass facade opens up entirely to the large backyard. The solid wood construction is visible and frames the interior. The combination of pine wood, Shou Sugi Ban, and Corten steel creates a facade with contrasting colors and textures. A remarkable, sustainable residence. The house is almost entirely constructed from bio-based materials and has a striking look because of the vertical lines that extend to the ridge.
