Architect agency B2P Architecture refers to this project as ”The black crocodile”. Which is not as crazy as it sounds, as the irregular pattern of the Naoshima carbon layer does indeed somewhat resemble that of a crocodile! The contrast with the white wood makes for an exciting combined play that this renovation and expansion project only benefits from. The woody surroundings ensure that this beautiful villa is almost hidden from sight. Just like a real crocodile that calmly lies in wait until the next prey comes along.
