Tonosho is a similar and as wonderful a primal product as Naoshima. The used larch wood is always sawn parallel to the annual rings. Tonosho - like all other woods – is charred in a controlled manner in our own oven.  Subsequently we treat the blackened wood with a special natural oil, lacquer or resin.  This will harden the carbon layer and prevent it from staining. Again, the granular structure of the black charred wood is beautifully visible and tangible.  Tonosho is well suited to be used indoors creating a special feel. Outdoors, Tonosho is ideally suited for use as a sustainable, natural finishing of walls  for severe weather.
